Not a WIPL event, Intershoot is an international air gun match that attracts more than 200 athletes from the world. It holds at The Hague, The Netherlands every year in early February. It is a 3-day match with one qualification and one final every day. The match is classified in groups of Senior (>21 years) and Junior (<21 years), men and women, air pistol and air rifle. Top 8 shooters of each category go into the final competing for medals.
May Chan, an athlete who trained for just over 1 year, was the only Canadian Senior Women Air Pistol (WAP) athlete who was qualified in the finals for all 3 days and achieved the 5th, 4th and 4th places which is the best result among Canadian athletes in this category. May is a pistol coach in train and was leading the team in many aspects. Her fiancé Colin played an important role in supporting the athletes.
Sissi Zhang, 13 years old , was qualified in the Women Air Pistol Junior (WAPJ) finals for all 3 days, brought home 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze. She achieved the best results among Canadian athletes in this category.

The event committee, the juries, volunteers, athletes and coaches from other countries were impressed by the high level that the team has achieved. Many friends were made! Everyone gained experiences in competing internationally - travel, transportation with guns and ammos, living, food, weather, and more!
Congratulations to the athletes, the coach, and the support team! Competition aside, there were many laughs and good memories from the Netherlands!
